15. Problem& limitation, appendix, and work schedule
15.1. Problems and Limitations
This section serves to enumerate potential challenges and constraints anticipated in the research process. Such issues may encompass the availability of data, obtaining permission from the relevant agency or organization to conduct the study, challenges in sample acquisition, or any other aspect integral to the research. Given that resources may be limited, especially in academic exercises, the acknowledgment that the study might be constrained by practical limitations is crucial. It is imperative to communicate these limitations openly to the readers, emphasizing their potential impact on the validity of conclusions and generalizations.
Here, 'problems' pertain to logistical difficulties, while 'limitations' denote structural issues related to the methodology employed in the study. If, in the researcher's opinion, the chosen study design, sampling method, or measurement procedures are not optimal but were adopted due to practical reasons, these should be classified as limitations and explicitly communicated to the readers.
15.2. Appendix
In the appendix, for quantitative studies, it is recommended to include the research instrument. Additionally, attach a list of references in the appendix of the proposal. This enhances transparency and allows readers to access key tools used in the study.
15.3. Work Schedule
Developing a work schedule is essential to managing the research process within a specified timeframe. This section involves listing the various operational steps needed to complete the research and assigning target dates for each task. Including a buffer or 'cushion' towards the end of the timeline accommodates unforeseen challenges that may arise during the research process. A chart, as illustrated in Table 13.1, can be a useful visual aid in outlining the planned schedule.
